BIO

 

Lindsay was born in Hawaii and grew up in the small mountain town of Telluride, Colorado. She studied Fine Arts and got her BFA at the University of Colorado. She became enthralled with pop art and began drawing imagery from mass culture and transferred this fascination to large scale paintings. Lindsay has since been producing mixed media paintings of celebrities and icons that have inspired her daily life. Her art has been sold in Los Angeles, Colorado and Baltimore. 

 

 

 

 

ARTIST STATEMENT

 

My paintings are bold and large, throwing my love of pop culture and historic icons into the spectators face.  I have drawn my imagery from mass media and mass culture.  This body of work includes paintings of celebrity. They are artists, athletes, models, musicians and commercial items that have inspired me. These mixed media, life size, paintings combine bright vibrant spray paint with overlaid hand painted acrylic images. It is my goal to trick your eye into thinking they are stencil overlays but in reality they are free hand painted figures. I want you to feel the good vibes from the meticulously chosen color combinations.
